ANICHE SCHOLAR
Aniche Scholar is a private consulting service dedicated to supporting postgraduate research candidates in Business and Management studies. Led by Dr. Chenai Muhwati, a PhD-qualified professional with expertise in Supply Chain Management, Aniche Scholar provides personalised research mentorship tailored to the needs of Master's, MBA, DBA, and PhD candidates.
At Aniche Scholar, we understand that postgraduate research can be overwhelming, especially for professionals balancing work, life and studies or those returning after a gap. That is why we offer structured guidance, constructive feedback, and support to students at all stages. Our services are designed to support and empower beginners, returning students, and advanced researchers, providing them with the tools they need to succeed in both their academic and professional journeys.

We offer two main types of services: document reviews and one-on-one consultations. Our services are designed to simplify the research process in a calm, friendly, and collaborative environment, empowering our clients while strictly adhering to university ethical guidelines for such services. We strictly do not offer ghostwriting, content creation and do not replace the role of your supervisor, instead we focus on mentorship, consulting, and constructive academic support to help students develop their own research to the highest standard. Whether you need help refining your research proposal, structuring your dissertation, or preparing for a defence, Aniche Scholar is here to support you.

MEET DR. CHENAI MUHWATI
Co-Founder | Director
Dr. Chenai Muhwati, a seasoned academic and research consultant, holds a PhD from the University of KwaZulu-Natal (UKZN), one of Africa’s leading institutions for research and innovation. UKZN consistently ranks among the top universities in South Africa and is recognised globally for its research excellence. She completed her undergraduate and Honours studies in Marketing and Supply Chain Management, earning an impressive seven Certificates of Merit, one Dean’s Commendation, and 16 distinctions across a diverse range of Management modules in both degrees.

Dr. Muhwati completed her MCom degree in 2015, further establishing her academic expertise in Supply Chain Management. Her research, titled, 'The Potential Role for Social Media to Improve Agility in South African Fashion Industry Supply Chains', reflects her commitment to both theoretical and practical industry challenges. During her Master’s, she was selected as one of six students to represent UKZN at the AAE Summer School in Chemnitz, Germany, where she presented a working paper at the East Forum, which led to her publication in the Journal of Contemporary Management. She was also invited to join the Golden Key Honour Society and was one of fewer than 10 Master’s students selected to attend the prestigious Writing for Publication workshop at UKZN, alongside faculty members. Throughout her MCom journey, Dr. Muhwati built strong networks with key fashion industry stakeholders and was a student member of SAPICS (The Professional Body for Supply Chain Management).

During her Master’s studies, Dr. Muhwati discovered her passion for teaching research while working as a postgraduate research assistant. She received overwhelmingly positive feedback from students she assisted, many of whom encouraged her to pursue a career in academia. During this period, she was entrusted with supervising two Honours students and one Postgraduate Diploma student, all of whom successfully completed their research.

Dr. Muhwati’s PhD research focused on closed-loop supply chain strategies for SMME fashion retailers in South Africa, tackling challenges posed by low quality, secondhand fashion product imports. As a practical solution to the issue, her study advocated for a shift towards remanufacturing, reusing, and recycling such imports to develop a more sustainable, economically viable, and environmentally responsible fashion industry in Africa. With the UN's Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) for 2030 in mind, she developed a decision-support model to guide stakeholders in adopting closed-loop supply chains, facilitating a more practical solution to the problem.

With 12 years of experience in academia, Dr. Muhwati has held roles including lecturer, research supervisor, programme coordinator, moderator, study guide developer, and research coach. While completing her PhD, Dr. Muhwati lectured and supervised postgraduate students at another institution, where she consistently received outstanding feedback for research supervision. Students praised her patience, ability to keep them calm during moments of anxiety, her dedication to going above and beyond in providing support, and her structured guidance that boosted their research confidence. Her strong impact in research supervision and academic leadership led to her promotion to Programme Coordinator.
During her time working in the research mentorship and coaching industry, Dr. Muhwati has worked with postgraduate students from leading institutions such as Harvard University, London Business School (LBS), the University of Toronto, King Saud University, the University of the Witwatersrand (WITS), Henley Business School, and the University of South Africa (UNISA). Her mentorship spans over 20 countries across Africa, Asia, Australia, Europe, and North America, giving her a diverse global perspective that now shapes her consulting and research mentorship approach with Aniche Scholar.

In addition to attending the summer school in Germany, Dr. Muhwati has studied in Zimbabwe, Botswana, and South Africa. This multinational academic exposure contributes to her sensitivity to diverse academic environments, cross-cultural research perspectives, and an understanding of the unique challenges faced by students across different educational systems.

Currently, as Co-Founder and Director of Aniche Scholar, Dr. Muhwati applies her extensive expertise to research mentorship and consulting for Business and Management postgraduate candidates. Recognising the need for high-quality, accessible research consulting, she co-founded Aniche Scholar to support a broader audience of business professionals who seek to up-skill through their studies but may feel overwhelmed or unsure about how to approach the research process. Her methods are collaborative, patient, empathetic, and focused on simplifying the research process to provide services tailored to each individual's needs. Through Aniche Scholar, she continues to make a lasting impact on postgraduate students worldwide, helping them gain the skills and confidence needed to successfully complete their research and advance their careers.
